What are Dermal Fillers and Injectables?

The Benefits of Dermal Fillers and Injectables
In addition to giving people who want to make slight alterations to their facial appearance, dermal fillers and injectables offer the following benefits:
- Appointments typically last no more than an hour
- Little to no discomfort
- Results are immediate and improve with time
- Patients return to daily activities after appointment
- Long-lasting with some up to two years
Where Can Dermal Fillers and Injectables Be Applied?
Dermal fillers and injectables are most often used on the face and around the neck – areas where aging is most visible. Some fillers are also used on the hands and chest area.
How Do Dermal Fillers and Injectables Work?
Dermal fillers are injected into the targeted area where there are fine lines, wrinkles, folds, and creases. Depending on the filler and the area treated, it may be injected into the surface layers of the skin or the deeper layers. Botox is injected between wrinkles to relax the muscles acting as a wrinkle relaxer. Most appointments for these treatments take no more than an hour and are often performed at lunchtime so that people can return to work.
Dermal Filler and Injectable Procedure Preparation
The preparation involved with dermal fillers and injectables is easy and only involves cleaning the area(s) where the injections are made. A clinician may take pictures prior to the treatments to use as a comparison. While there is little to no discomfort during the treatment, a numbing cream may be applied if necessary prior to the injection.
Dermal Filler and Injectable Recovery
With dermal fillers and injectables, there is no “recovery” per se. Most patients return to their daily routine immediately following their treatments. Any redness or slight swelling at the injection site typically resolves itself within 24 hours.
How Much Do Dermal Filler and Injectable Treatments Cost in Charlotte?
The cost of dermal fillers and injectables depends on the type of filler or injectable used, how many injections are required and whether treatments are combined with other medical spa services. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. We also offer financing with CareCredit®.
Are Dermal Fillers and Injectables Right for Me?
If you are uncomfortable with wrinkles and fine lines that seem to be noticeable, or if you want to maintain a more youthful appearance without going through invasive cosmetic surgery procedures that require weeks of recovery, dermal fillers and injectables may be right for you.
